Every Time You Move…Breathe!
Vinyasas are the linking of breath with movements, an exact science. They are the essence of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and demonstrate some of the most graceful aspects of the practice, the ability to pick up, jump back, jump through and move effortlessly from one posture to the next. They also develop strength, vitality and energy in your practice. In this workshop, the essential technique of breath and movement and how it applies to the internal principles of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system will be explored. Specific exercises will be practiced and explained opening a doorway to a new level of awareness and understanding of the Vinyasa system, actions and awareness and how it can deepen and enrich your practice.
Map it out –Break it Down! Back Bends
Backbends are tremendous postures and one of the most exhilarating asanas to practice. They develop flexibility, strengthen, realign and increase the mobility in the entire spinal column. They open the pelvic region, stretch and strengthen the legs, boost energy levels while inspiring self-confidence, courage and vitality. Backbends can also teach us to be more patient with ourselves by accepting our limitations and use them as tools to move deeper by unlocking an inner intelligence. In this workshop we will learn fundamental alignment techniques to incorporate in to a variety of back bending postures and learn how to energetically and intuitively open restricted areas of the body to safely deepen these asanas.
