Spring Summer Intensive : 10 Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Weekend

Modelling an approach to discovering what is most effective and in a welcoming and inspiring environment, this weekend will be open to interaction, inquiry and connection. Questions and answers will be encouraged and there will be an abundance of time to explore the more physical aspects of the practice.  This weekend is open to all levels of practitioners.

Mysore-An Integrated Practice

Thursday June 16
5:00 to 8:30 pm

Practitioners will have 2 hours to complete their personal practice.  We will then meet in a workshop environment to explore The essential technique of breath and movement and how it applies to the internal principles of the Ashtanga VInyasa Yoga system.  Specific exercises will be practiced and explained opening a doorway to a new level of awareness and understanding of the Vinyasa system, actions and awareness and how it can deepen and enrich your practice.

Follow the Path of Vinyasa

Friday June 17
6:00 to 8:00 pm

Practitioners are guided through the traditional sequence of the Primary Series, from sun salutations through standing, seated postures up to Navasana to back bends and closing postures in a flowing manner. Utilizing the Vinyasa system, We will stop, taking the time to explore postures and transitional movements, the actions and how they prepare and provide us with a strong foundation for our practice and the rest of the series.

Map it Out Break it Down : An Introduction and Exploration of the Postures from the Intermediate Series

Saturday June 18
1:00  to 4:00 pm

Nadi Shodhana is the traditional name for the Intermediate or Second Series of Ashtanga Yoga.  It refers to the results of the practice, the purification and strengthening of the nervous system and the energetic areas, which underlie the physical form. In this workshop the series will be introduced as well as their coordinating vinyasas and transitional movements, in a workshop style. This will give practitioners and teachers an opportunity to ask questions and look at key actions that develop the strength and alignment for postures, gaining a deeper awareness and understanding to the vinyasa system, and how it relates to posture within the series and other postures from other Yoga traditions.

Map it Out Break It Down-Arm Balances

Sunday June 19
1:00 to 3:00 pm

This will be an continuation of Saturdays workshop continuing where we left off with a focus on the energetic aspects and dynamic arm balances of the Intermediate Series. Arm balances strengthen the arms, shoulders, and core as well improve your sense of balance, self-confidence, and concentration.  When we learn to balance on our hands, our arms we begin to soar no only on our mats but also in our minds. In this workshop, we will look at the arm balances of the Intermediate series and the key actions that makes the mastery of strength, stability and alignment accessible to everyone to discover the secret to balancing on their arms.
